Security Reference Guide

System Security#

  1. Please check if the system is installed with domestic security software such as 360 or Kingsoft. When accessing the internet through a VPN, please completely disable such software (make sure to check the task manager for any remaining processes).
  2. When browsing the internet, please avoid clicking on any advertisements on certain websites, and do not grant any advanced permissions to any websites (especially location permissions).
  3. Please add a hardware lock to your computer/mobile device and use disk encryption methods like Bitblock/TPM-Luks to protect your personal data.
  4. You can enable a guest operating system (Guest OS) on your phone/computer with different passwords that are not interconnected (it is best to have two separate devices, one with domestic software installed and one without any domestic software).

Software Security#

  1. When using proxy software, please enable TUN/TAP to avoid DNS/WebRTC leaks of your real IP.
  2. Please use the latest, official, non-domestic, and non-China-related Chrome/Chromium/Firefox browsers to avoid security vulnerabilities or privacy leaks (specifically referring to browsers like 360 Secure Browser, Dual-core High-speed Browser, Firefox CN, Microsoft Edge, etc.).
  3. You can use software like Adguard to block ads, tracking parameters, and other privacy leaks.
  4. For mobile proxy software, you can enable application-based routing to prevent detection of proxy behavior.

Behavioral Security#

  1. Please do not disclose any information about your VPN usage or that you are accessing the internet through a VPN on any public social media platforms. Be cautious about your words and actions on domestic platforms and avoid associating your identity on domestic chat apps with your identity on overseas chat apps (such as nicknames, personal information, speaking style, passwords, etc.).
  2. Please do not enable or disclose your location on any untrusted software (including platforms like Google and Twitter) to avoid security issues.
  3. Please avoid using domestic phone numbers or email addresses to register for foreign services (especially +86 phone numbers, QQ, 163 email addresses, etc.).
  4. Please use DNS over HTTPS/TLS/QUIC and other DNS protocols as much as possible (Adguard is recommended). Pay attention to whether the website address starts with HTTPS://, and if not, you can manually add the "S".
